Inauguration of DAS Mall for the Katkaris
Even today, the Katkari tribe is deprived of food, clothing, and shelter. Under Quick Heal’s initiative Project Disha, for the katkari tribe, a new concept of ‘DAS Shop’, in association with Donate Aid Society and Kasba Ganpati Samajik Sanstha, has been started.
This shop has clothes donated by people. These clothes are refurbished by the katkari women and kept for sale at a meager cost of Rs.10/- to Rs.20/-, for the katkaris. This initiative has lead to livelihood for the people there.
The idea of DAS Shop evolved into ‘DAS Mall’. DAS mall is started in Jamgaon, Pune with the aim to provide the katkaris with household items, along with clothes, like furniture, electronic items, school stationery, etc. All these items are received through donations. And will benefit around 4000 katkaris.
This mall was inaugurated by Ms.Netra Deshpande(Director Engineering Development, Quick Heal Technologies) on 18th May 2019.
